WHAT IS UNIFORMITY?
Uniformity is a free daily trivia game that tests your knowledge of professional sports jersey numbers. Each day, a new 3×3 grid is generated for four major North American sports leagues: the NHL, NFL, NBA, and MLB.
The grid features three teams on the rows and three jersey numbers on the columns. Your challenge is to name a player who wore that number for that team. With nine cells to fill and only nine guesses, every answer counts.
Whether you are a die-hard hockey fan who remembers every roster from the 1990s or a casual football viewer who only knows the star quarterbacks, Uniformity offers a fun daily challenge that rewards deep sports knowledge.
HOW IT WORKS
Every day at midnight, Uniformity generates a fresh grid for each sport using a carefully tuned algorithm. The algorithm selects teams and jersey numbers that are weighted toward more recognizable positions and eras, so you will see a good mix of star players and deep-cut trivia across every puzzle.
When you type a player name, our autocomplete search helps you find the right match. We support full names, last names, and even players with special characters and diacritics in their names. Our database covers tens of thousands of players across all four leagues — from current rosters all the way back through league history.
When you finish a grid, you see your result: how many cells you solved out of nine, your completion time, and your rank against every other player who finished today's grid. The leaderboard ranks players by cells solved, with completion time as the tiebreaker — so a faster perfect grid wins out over a slower one.
FOUR SPORTS, ONE GAME
Uniformity covers all four major North American professional sports leagues. You can switch between NHL, NFL, NBA, and MLB grids at any time, and your progress in each sport is saved independently throughout the day. Play one league or play them all — it is entirely up to you.
Each sport has its own unique flavor. NFL grids lean into the drama of quarterback numbers and iconic wide receivers. NBA puzzles test your knowledge of legendary numbers like 23 and 33. MLB grids cover everything from single-digit aces to bench players. And NHL grids reward fans who know their hockey history inside and out.
LEADERBOARDS AND COMPETITION
Create a free account to track your results and compete on the global leaderboards. The Daily board ranks the top players from today's grid by cells solved and completion time. The Weekly board sums cells solved across the current week (Monday through Sunday), with total time as the tiebreaker. The goal is simple: solve more, faster, more often.
Uniformity resets every 24 hours, so there is always a new puzzle waiting for you. Come back each day to test your knowledge and climb the rankings.
